John Frederick Tennant (British, 1796-1872)
Tennant was an internationally recognized painter who blended his skills as a landscapist and genre painter to create beautifully composed scenes of fishermen, farmers and shepherds at work or at rest in extensive vistas. He traveled widely in Britain to record specific picturesque environments for his work. He was a member of the Society of British Artists and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1820 to 1897.
